If you’re looking for an affordable holiday destination to visit in Asia, Thailand is highly recommended. A favorite of backpackers, tourists from North America, Europe and even those from Australia can enjoy a luxurious stay in the country what with the high foreign exchange rate of the dollar, Euro and Sterling pounds.
Apart from being able to enjoy value for your money, Thailand offers much more including amazing tourist attractions and great tasting food. This is your opportunity to explore the country’s exotic white sand beaches, visit temples, ride a trike or tuk-tuk, join parties, learn about the culture and savor its well-known spicy food.
A survey done by the Economist newspaper revealed that the cost of living in Bangkok is only 57 percent compared to that of New York.
Food alone is very cheap in the country. Three meals a day will only cost you around $3 to $5 dollars. A meal for two at a high end Thai restaurant would only cost around $50 or more. Of course, it would be a lot cheaper if you eat at the street stalls situated in many parts around the capital.
For accommodation, a typical three-star hotel room normally costs $20 per day at the minimum while a stay at a five-star hotel room would cost a little more at around a minimum of $30. In central Bangkok, a nice and comfortable apartment with good facilities costs around $400 per month.
When going around, visitors can choose to join a guided tour offered by their hotel or they can always go on their own. Taking the taxi or tuk-tuk (tricycle) around central Bangkok will cost only 70 baht or approximately $2 while fare on express boats and canal boats costs from 5 to 10 baht.
Shopping at very low prices is also possible in Thailand. You can get bags, clothes, accessories and even jewelry at very affordable rates. In fact, some business owners from other parts of Asia shop for their supplies here in Thailand.
So what are you waiting for? Book a trip to Thailand soon with your loved ones and have a great time exploring the sights and sound.
